Houston Junior Woman's Club

WHO WE ARE

HJWC is a small (less than 200 members) woman’s organization providing charitable, benevolent, educational, and other similar services to children in the Houston community.
Our target market is any woman (21 years and above) residing in the Houston metropolitan area who will dedicate their time and effort to volunteer at our service projects (Bayou Bend, Ronald McDonald House, Texas Children’s Hospital, and Crafts), attend meetings, help with Fundraising and other committees, and meet others. We also want to target women who are new to the Houston area and would like to meet like-minded women.
For Donations, our target market is anyone who is willing to contribute to our efforts to raise money for Houston-based children’s charities. 100% of the funds we raise go to children’s charities. The majority of the funds are given to BB, RMH and TCH.
HJWC is made up of women who are passionate about volunteering at our service projects, raising funds for children in need, and making a difference in the lives of these children. Along the way, we also make lifelong friendships.

HJWC’s motto is “Friendship, Faith and Service”.

Friendship

Refers to the life-long friendships we all have made through our involvement with HJWC.

Faith

(Carolyn and Marilyn do not know the origin of why Faith is in our motto but said -) This is not Faith in a religious sense as we are not supposed to be affiliated with any religious group. Perhaps, it means Faith in what we do for children and Faith in each other. Love the above – for explanation of faith

Service

Refers to the volunteer work we do at our service projects and helping with fundraising and other committees.
